Happy Labor Day! There’s nothing like a holiday weekend to get us out of the house enjoying the unofficial end of summer. So invite your friends and family over for a backyard cookout, then when cleanup time rolls around, treat your garden to the leftovers. After all, solid food is just fine for a routine diet, but plants appreciate some liquid refreshment every now and then.
So instead of pouring leftover drinks down the drain, serve ‘em to a plant instead—that liquid is chock-full of health-giving nutrients! Here’s a list of your garden’s favorite refreshing beverages:
· Beer
· Juice
· Tea
· Coffee
· Soda pop
· Whiskey
· Wine
· Flavored water
And here’s a picnic for your potted plants that’ll keep ‘em growing strong until the end of the growing season.
Mix 2 tablespoons of brewed black coffee, 2 tablespoons of whiskey, 1 teaspoon of fish emulsion, ½ teaspoon of gelatin powder, ½ teaspoon of baby shampoo, ½ teaspoon of ammonia, and a gallon of water in a watering can, and water your potted plants with the mixture once a week to keep them happy, healthy, and full of flowers!

Very interesting. I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. I will try it.
My dad swears by the plant tonics: he's been using them for years and his plants grow like crazy.
